2027 MCAT Test Dates List for United States & Canada

United States 2027 MCAT Test Dates
The AAMC has published its full 2027 calendar for US testing centers. Registration for the whole 2027 testing year opened on October 20 to 22, 2026, so you can book any date below up to its 10-day deadline, as long as seats remain. Scores come out about a month after each sitting.
Those are all 35 US MCAT test dates for 2027. Select-center dates. January 30, May 14, July 9 and August 28 run only at select US testing centers, so check the areas for your date before you register!

Canada 2027 MCAT Test Dates
Canadian sittings share most dates with the US calendar and add a few of their own in July, August and September. Each one is paired with its deadlines and the day the score is released.
Those are all 36 Canadian MCAT test dates for 2027! Eight have no US match, July 24 and 31, August 6, 7, 13, 19 and 27, and September 4, while seven US dates in January to May don’t run in Canada.
If you’re testing in Canada and want a late-summer date, you’ve got lots of options!
No MCAT testing in Quebec in 2027. The AAMC’s Canadian calendar says it won’t give the exam in Quebec in 2027, because of the province’s Bill 96. If you live there, plan to test in another province or in the US (checked November 5, 2026).

2026 MCAT Test Dates and Score Releases (Last Year)
Looking for last year’s dates? The 2026 MCAT ran from January 9 to September 12, 2026, and the AAMC released the last 2026 scores on October 13, 2026, so every 2026 score is out now. Here’s when each 2026 sitting’s score came out!

2027 MCAT Test Dates at a Glance
The 2027 MCAT test dates run from January to September. May has the most US dates, with seven, and Canada adds extra sittings in July, August and September, so Canadian test takers get nine dates to pick from in August alone!

2027 MCAT Score Release Dates
Scores come out about a month after each sitting. The AAMC releases them by 5:00 p.m. ET on the score release date, and you’ll see yours in its score reporting system.
Sittings a day or two apart usually share a release date, so the 43 US and Canadian MCAT test dates fall on 24 release days. Find your test date on the right and its score release on the left.

MCAT Test Date Deadlines and Change Fees
Each test date has three scheduling deadlines, set 60, 30 and 10 days before the exam, and they decide what a change costs.
The 10-day deadline is the last day to schedule, reschedule or cancel. It’s also the last day to edit details like your name and address.
Good news, booking early doesn’t lock you in! The AAMC’s 2027 change fees step up at each deadline, and the refund ends after the 30-day deadline.
Every deadline closes at the test center’s local time of 11:59 p.m., and the AAMC allows no changes after the 10-day deadline.

Registering for 2027 MCAT Test Dates
Registration for every 2027 date opened on October 20, 21 or 22, 2026, depending on the test center’s region, and each date stays open until its 10-day deadline. Test centers have limited seats, and the AAMC fills them first come, first served.
A popular date at a busy center can sell out. If no seats show for your date, we’d turn on the AAMC’s Notify Me option. It emails you if a seat opens at that center!
For 2027, registration costs $360, or $145 if you’re approved for the AAMC Fee Assistance Program. Testing outside the US, Canada and US territories adds a $130 international fee.
The AAMC has to approve your Fee Assistance before you pick a date and test center. Get that approval in place before you register, or the standard $360 fee applies.

How to Choose Your MCAT Test Date
Every student’s situation is different, so there’s no single best MCAT test date. A few rules hold for almost everyone, and they all serve one goal, giving you the best chance of getting into medical school!

Work Back From When You’ll Apply
Many medical schools review applications on a rolling basis, so seats fill as the cycle goes on. Applying early means more of them are still open when your file is read, which makes an earlier test date a help, as long as you’re ready.
In recent cycles, AMCAS has opened in early May and started sending applications to schools in late May or early June. Testing by March gets your score back before AMCAS opens, and April sittings come back in mid May.
January works well if you studied through the summer and fall and feel ready. Your score arrives in February or early March, and you’ll have spare months for clinical hours, travel or anything else before applications open!
Test When You’re Ready
If you’re not ready by April, we don’t recommend testing in April. A lower score sent early doesn’t speed up an acceptance, and it can cost you interviews. If you’re unsure about your score goal, a later date is the safer choice.

Pick the earliest date you can be ready for, then protect the weeks before it. Moving a date costs $55 to $210, and the 60-day deadline gets you the lowest fee!
Leave Room Before Hard Deadlines
Some schools, including many in Canada, review applications only after one fixed deadline. If you’re applying to one, we’d book your MCAT at least two months before it, so an illness or a family emergency doesn’t cost you a whole cycle.
By August, rolling schools have already read a large share of their applications. You can test then, but we don’t recommend it if you’re applying in the same cycle.
Give Your Application the Same Care
Your application deserves as much time as your MCAT. Before AMCAS opens, start on your personal statement, request your transcripts and line up your letters of recommendation.
Have someone already in medical school read your essays. Testing early helps only if your application goes in early too!
We don’t recommend applying without a score and a note that you’re testing soon, since your file usually waits for it.
If your score lands well below a school’s range, it can make sense to hold that application, retest and apply with the score you want.
Plan for One Sitting
We don’t recommend building a retake into your plan. Treat your next sitting as your last, and build your study weeks around that date from the first one. Top scorers sat down on test day with that mindset, and you can too!

When Is the MCAT in 2027?
The 2027 MCAT test dates run from January 15 to September 11, with 35 dates at US centers and 36 in Canada. The AAMC also publishes an international testing calendar for centers outside North America.
When Do MCAT Scores Come Out?
About a month after your test date, by 5:00 p.m. ET. A January 15 sitting gets its score on February 16, and the last 2027 scores come out on October 12. The score release table above lists every one!
When Does MCAT Registration Open for 2027?
It opened by region on October 20, 21 and 22, 2026, at noon ET. Registration stays open for each date until its 10-day deadline, while seats last. It’s not too late to grab a 2027 date!
What Are the January 2027 MCAT Test Dates?
