MedSchoolCoach MCAT Tutoring Review (2026)

Last updated 20 August 2026 by the MedLife Mastery mentor team

What MedSchoolCoach does well

 • Every tutor scored 520 or higher, the highest published bar in this cluster
 • Three tutor tiers, so you can pay for more experience if you want it
 • Score Improvement Guarantee adds 10 free hours if your official score does not rise
 • A CARS Mastery Course with 20+ lessons is included
 • Sessions are recorded and rewatchable on desktop and mobile

Where it falls short

 • Pricing is not published and requires booking a consultation
 • Packages start around 10 hours and most students are steered to 25 to 45
 • A 520+ scorer often found the exam easier, which does not always translate into teaching a struggling student
 • The guarantee pays out in more hours rather than money back
 • Tier pricing means the best tutors cost the most, on top of an already hidden price

The strictest published tutor standard in the market

MedSchoolCoach requires a minimum MCAT score of 520 from every tutor it hires. That is the highest published bar in this cluster and it is a real differentiator, not a marketing line.

Above the standard tier sit Master tutors, who add years of teaching experience and hundreds of tutoring hours, and a small number of Director-level tutors available on a limited basis.

Pricing is not published. The site shows the three tiers and directs you to a consultation or a phone call.

Packages run from 10 hours to more than 60, and the company says most students choose 25 to 45, which tells you more about the likely total than any hourly figure would.

Hours, recordings, and a guarantee shaped in hours

One-to-one sessions of one to two hours, recorded and rewatchable on desktop and mobile, which is a genuine convenience that not every competitor offers.

Access to the MedSchoolCoach CARS Mastery Course with over 20 lessons is included, along with analytics on your strengths and weaknesses and test anxiety workshops.

The Score Improvement Guarantee is worth reading carefully for its shape rather than its existence: if your official score does not increase, you receive an additional 10 hours of tutoring at no cost.

It pays out in more of the product rather than in money back. Whether that reassures you depends on whether you would want another 10 hours of the same approach.

What students tell us about MedSchoolCoach

MedSchoolCoach appears in our archive too rarely for us to put a number on it, so we will not.

What students who come to us from it describe is usually a capable tutor and a sense that the sessions were pitched slightly above where they were.

That is consistent with the model rather than a criticism of it, and it points at something worth thinking about before you buy on the strength of the 520 bar. A 520 scorer is often someone who found the exam relatively manageable.

What tends to move a stuck score is a mentor who was once stuck in the same way and remembers the route out. A high score is a good filter for competence. It is not a proxy for being able to teach a 505 scorer.

The Unbiased MCAT Prep Course Decision Quiz

Three different problems stall an MCAT score, and buying the wrong fix costs months. Six questions sort out which one is yours and what to spend on it. We name competitors and free resources when they beat us, and say so when the answer is spend nothing.

No email required. Your plan appears on screen.

Transparency, before you start. We sell MCAT tutoring and courses, so here are the rules this quiz follows.

 • Zero budget, no purchases. Free resources only, and we say so.
 • Content gap, buy content first. From whoever does it best, which is usually not us. Our tutoring comes up only as an optional add-on for a big gap.
 • Strategy gap, we recommend our own course first. We would put our name against it, and we name a cheaper alternative beside it so you can price us against ours.
 • Competitors named and linked when they beat us: UWorld, Kaplan, Blueprint, ExamKrackers, Khan Academy.
 • We appear only where we fit, with the budget to match, and always beside a cheaper option.
 • Our free MCAT resources show up wherever they fit, and they ask for nothing.

Where it makes sense, and where it does not

Buy it if the scorer bar is what you want. 520+ across the whole roster is the strictest published standard here, and if that is the reassurance you are looking for, nothing else in this cluster matches it.

Ask about the total, not the rate. With most students taking 25 to 45 hours, the number that matters is the package, not the hourly figure. Get that total in the first conversation.

Ask who your tutor was before they scored 520. If they were always comfortable with the exam, ask how they teach someone who is not. It is a fair question and the answer tells you a lot.

How MedSchoolCoach compares to MedLife Mastery

MedSchoolCoach's one-to-one tutoring against MedLife Mastery 1:1 tutoring. Like for like: this compares tutoring to tutoring, not tutoring to a course. A check marks whichever has the advantage on that row.

What students who tried both told us

Anand helped me develop confidence and accuracy on what the test was looking for. With Anand's help, I was able to take my score from a 510 to a 520, but that doesn't capture the increase in test-day confidence that his cogent communication, test expertise, and supportiveness was able to inspire in me. Some people that are knowledgeable don't have that knowledge translate into teaching ability, but somehow Anand has both.

Pascal Hayward

Kamaldeep Randhawa was my tutor. He was very resourceful and gave me many strategies for each of the science sections. I got 513 (130/125/128/130) with his strategies. He gave me strategies for each science section that allowed me to comprehend data more effectively and be confident in my answers in BB even with slight content gaps. I’d highly recommend him for his honesty and resourcefulness by providing his notes and resources.

Why students choose MedLife over traditional prep companies

This part is not about Altius specifically. It is the difference between us and the traditional prep-company model in general.

Traditional prep companiesMedLife Mastery
Teaching focusContent-heavy: mostly explains what is already in your books or free online.Strategy-driven: how to study efficiently and get results faster with less burnout.
Who teaches youOften high scorers or naturals who did not face the same struggle.Mentors who struggled to top scores and know the setbacks first-hand.
RecencyMany have not sat the exam in years, so advice can be outdated.Recently took the MCAT, so strategies are current and tested.
Business modelOften profit more the longer you need help. Our success is defined by you not needing us anymore.
MindsetRarely addressed, as it is not considered high yield.Built into the process, because it is often the missing piece.
Post-MCATStrictly MCAT-focused, no admissions guidance beyond the test.Your mentor can carry you into med-school applications too.

MedSchoolCoach MCAT course: common questions

How much does MedSchoolCoach MCAT tutoring cost?

MedSchoolCoach does not publish its rates. The site shows three tutor tiers, Standard, Master and Director, and directs you to book a consultation or call for pricing. Packages run from 10 hours to more than 60, and the company says most students choose 25 to 45 hours, which tells you more about the likely total than any hourly figure would.

Are MedSchoolCoach tutors really all 520+ scorers?

That is the published standard: a minimum MCAT score of 520 for every tutor, with Master tutors adding years of teaching experience and hundreds of tutoring hours on top. It is the highest published bar in this cluster and it is a real differentiator.

Is a 520+ tutor better than a 515+ tutor?

Not automatically, and this is worth thinking about rather than assuming. A 520 is often a student who found the exam relatively easy. What moves a stuck score is usually someone who was once stuck themselves and remembers how they got out. Score is a filter for competence, not a proxy for teaching a struggling student.

What is the MedSchoolCoach score guarantee?

If your official score does not increase, they add 10 hours of tutoring at no cost. Note the shape of that: it pays out in more of their product rather than in money back. Whether that is reassuring depends on whether you would want another 10 hours from the same approach.

What is included besides the tutoring hours?

Access to the MedSchoolCoach CARS Mastery Course with over 20 lessons, recorded sessions you can rewatch on desktop or mobile, analytics on your strengths and weaknesses, and test anxiety workshops. The recordings are a genuine convenience and not something every competitor offers.
