ExamKrackers MCAT Tutoring Review (2026)

Last updated 20 August 2026 by the MedLife Mastery mentor team

What ExamKrackers does well

 • Live office hours six days a week are included in the price
 • By far the lowest price for regular instructor access in this cluster
 • The teaching voice is direct and tells you what not to bother learning
 • Seven-day free trial before you commit
 • Positioned openly against the four-figure competitors

Where it falls short

 • The 90-day window starts at purchase, so a slipped test date means buying again
 • Group office hours are not the same thing as dedicated one-to-one time
 • The platform is much newer than the company’s reputation in books
 • Smaller materials library than the big providers
 • Less structure than a planner-led platform if you need to be held to a schedule

ExamKrackers is not a books company any more

ExamKrackers spent two decades as a publisher, and most reviews still describe it that way. The site now leads with Krack University, a subscription platform at $695 for 90 days of all-inclusive access, with live tutoring available six days a week included in that price. There is a seven-day free trial.

The company positions itself openly against four-figure competitors, naming the "$1,000, $2,000, or even $3,000" alternatives in its own marketing. On price per hour of available human help, that claim survives scrutiny better than most competitive claims in this market.

What $695 covers, and what it does not

Ninety days of platform access, the full ExamKrackers curriculum, and live office hours six days a week where you can bring questions to an actual instructor. The teaching voice is the one that made the books popular: direct, a little irreverent, and willing to tell you what not to bother learning.

The important distinction is that office hours are shared, not dedicated. You can ask questions and get real answers, and nobody is booked to sit with you and watch how you work a passage from start to finish. That is a different product, and it is the one that tends to move a stalled score.

The 90-day clock starts when you buy. MCAT test dates slip constantly, and if yours does, you are buying again. Products with six or twelve month windows absorb that better.

What students tell us about ExamKrackers

ExamKrackers comes up in dozens of conversations students have started with us, and almost always in connection with the books rather than the platform. The pivot to Krack University is recent enough that our archive has not caught up with it, and we would rather say that than imply we have data we do not.

What students did say consistently about the books is that the explanations landed the first time, and that the reasoning style suited them better than the encyclopedic approach of the larger publishers. That is a real signal about how this company teaches, even though it predates the current product.

The Unbiased MCAT Prep Course Decision Quiz

Three different problems stall an MCAT score, and buying the wrong fix costs months. Six questions sort out which one is yours and what to spend on it. We name competitors and free resources when they beat us, and say so when the answer is spend nothing.

No email required. Your plan appears on screen.

Transparency, before you start. We sell MCAT tutoring and courses, so here are the rules this quiz follows.

 • Zero budget, nothing paid. Free resources only, and we say so.
 • Content gap, buy content first. From whoever does it best, which is usually not us. Our tutoring comes up only as an optional add-on for a big gap.
 • Competitors named and linked when they beat us: UWorld, Kaplan, Blueprint, ExamKrackers, Khan Academy.
 • We appear only where we fit, with the budget to match, and always beside a cheaper option.
 • Our free MCAT resources show up wherever they fit, and they ask for nothing.

Where it makes sense, and where it does not

It is the best value in live human help on this page. Six days a week of instructor access for $695 is not matched by anything else here, and the nearest comparable offerings run three to five times the price.

Do not mistake office hours for tutoring. If your problem is that nobody has ever watched you work a full passage under time, shared office hours will not fix it. Budget for dedicated hours somewhere.

Buy it when your date is fixed. The 90-day window is the catch, and it is a real one. Start the clock when you are already inside a dedicated study block.

How ExamKrackers compares to MedLife Mastery

ExamKrackers's one-to-one tutoring against MedLife Mastery 1:1 tutoring. Like for like: this compares tutoring to tutoring, not tutoring to a course. A check marks whichever has the advantage on that row.

What students who tried both told us

I took about 10-15 sessions and my tutor Nate did an excellent job helping me improve my reading comprehension/speed rather than just teaching me test-taking hacks. I got a 129 (95th percentile CARS score), 3 points higher than my best practice exam. My overall MCAT was a 520 (3 pts higher than my best practice exam score). He did a good job keeping me motivated. :) **Our reply** (2023-06-28): > Congrats on that 520 Venkata!!

Venkata Chengalvala

She has taught me techniques and strategies that help me amplify what I already knew, and put it to good use. When I first started working with her, I didn't think I could ever break 500. Suffice to say breaking 500 is no longer a concern or a problem for me. I will be updating with my real MCAT score soon, if anything to just compound the huge difference that she has made for me.

Why students choose MedLife over traditional prep companies

This part is not about Altius specifically. It is the difference between us and the traditional prep-company model in general.

Traditional prep companiesMedLife Mastery
Teaching focusContent-heavy: mostly explains what is already in your books or free online.Strategy-driven: how to study efficiently and get results faster with less burnout.
Who teaches youOften high scorers or naturals who did not face the same struggle.Mentors who struggled to top scores and know the setbacks first-hand.
RecencyMany have not sat the exam in years, so advice can be outdated.Recently took the MCAT, so strategies are current and tested.
Business modelOften profit more the longer you need help. Our success is defined by you not needing us anymore.
MindsetRarely addressed, as it is not considered high yield.Built into the process, because it is often the missing piece.
Post-MCATStrictly MCAT-focused, no admissions guidance beyond the test.Your mentor can carry you into med-school applications too.

ExamKrackers MCAT course: common questions

How much does ExamKrackers MCAT tutoring cost?

Krack University is $695 for 90 days of all-inclusive access, and live tutoring six days a week is included in that price. There is a seven-day free trial. We verified this on the ExamKrackers site in August 2026.

Is ExamKrackers tutoring one-to-one?

Not in the dedicated sense. The live help is office hours you can bring questions to, six days a week, shared with other students. That is genuinely useful and remarkably cheap, and it is a different product from booked one-to-one sessions where someone watches you work a passage from start to finish.

What happened to the ExamKrackers books?

The books still exist, but the company has pivoted. Its site now leads with Krack University, a subscription platform, rather than the print materials that made its name. Most reviews you will read still describe ExamKrackers as a books company, which is several years out of date.

What is the catch with the 90-day window?

The clock starts when you buy, not when you start studying. MCAT test dates slip constantly, and if yours does, you are re-buying access. Courses with six or twelve month windows absorb that better. Buy this when you are already inside a dedicated study block and your date is fixed.

Is $695 too good to be true?

It is a real price for a real product, and the economics make sense: group office hours cost far less to staff than dedicated one-to-one hours. What you are giving up is dedicated attention and a score guarantee. For a student who mainly needs somewhere to take questions, that is a good trade.
